Training provided by Institute of Land Administration

The training provided by Institute of Land Administration, BDU in collaboration with partners is finalized

Bahir Dar University's Institute of Land Management in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure's Urban Revenue Reform Project Office organized the 3rd round of Professional Competency based (COC) training of level II to level V in the field of urban land and planning, from February 28/2024 to March 31/2024.

Prof. Eneyew Adgo V/President for Research and Community services of BDU in the occasion emphasized that the purpose of research is to produce new technology or generate knowledge.
In this way, the professor added by enhancing skills through such trainings and making a use of support from researchers, it is essential to use research outputs to generate tangible wealth. He said that taking such trainings will play an important role in solving the problems in cities.

The Minister of State of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, Ato Funta Dejan, on his part said that the trainees upon return to the city where they are working are expected to use the skills and knowledge they have gained from the training to digitize and lead land related matters based on the planning.

Dean of the Institute of Land Administration at Bahir Dar University, Belachew Yenesew (Dr.) said that since land is the most valuable resource, the training aims to keep the needful information related to land so as to properly use it. In particular, he stated that to ensure the competence of professionals working in the field of urban planning, 37 days long of training is provided in the assumption to create professionals who can share their knowledge and experience.

The official added that when the trainees return to their work place, they will be able to digitize land-related information and deliver it to the user when needed, and be qualified to modernize the entire land administration at the national level. He said that the trainees are professionals from all the land offices in the Amhara regional State who work down to the grassroot level.
